Manege Biessum is an FNRS-affiliated riding centre on the edge of the historic terp village of Biessum at Delfzijl in Groningen. It teaches horse and pony riding in group lessons and gives private tuition in jumping and dressage, as well as carriage-driving lessons. The facility has two indoor schools, two floodlit outdoor arenas, stabling for around seventy horses and ponies, a wash bay, a solarium and some thirteen hectares of grazing, and it takes livery horses. The yard breaks horses to saddle and to harness, guides buyers through purchases, and runs a pony team playing horseball. Its stalhouderij hires out carriages, wedding coaches and a horse tram.
