Friesenzucht Meentzen breeds Friesian horses at Hof Sarve, a traditional farm in the Wesermarsch near Nordenham. The fertile marshland has supported horse keeping here for centuries, and Gralf Meentzen has run the Friesian breeding programme since 1990. The aim is the baroque, large-framed and noble type of Friesian, selected for temperament and good natural ability. Broodmares and young stock are presented on the farm, and horses bred here are sold as family horses as well as for dressage and carriage driving.
