Reitschule Horstmann in Bad Essen teaches classical horsemanship in the tradition of the Ecole de Légèreté, working towards lightness, harmony and clear communication between horse and rider. Christiane and Hanna Horstmann give regular lessons at the yard, travel to clinics at other facilities, and run multi-day courses and single training days. The programme spans ground work and liberty training through to advanced dressage movements such as piaffe, passage and pirouettes, with video analysis available. The family also keeps a small breeding operation for Camargue horses and Lusitanos.
